We’ve been getting more and more video updates of the conditions on Saint Martin over the last few days. Yesterday, we took a look at a drone aerial video that showed Grand Case Beach Club and other parts of Grand Case along Boulevard de Grand Case. Today, we turn our attention to Oyster Pond.
I’m particularly interested in both Grand Case and Oyster Pond because it’s where my family and I would spend a lot of our time. In fact, we’d usually stay at the Westin in the offseason to celebrate our birthdays in May. You can see the Westin at the very end of the first video and it looks like it has sustained a lot of damage. No word on when or if the Westin will reopen.
You’ll also see a crane that’s involved in salvaging boats from Oyster Pond. In addition, I was able to find a second video, just below the first, that shows an interesting time lapse of boat salvage operations. The first video is more of a general look around the Oyster Pond area.
The picture that’s featured in this post is where Mr. Busby’s once stood. Clearly, it’s been completely demolished.
