Progress in Grand Case Brings Re-Opening of Several Iconic Restaurants Along the Boulevard
If you’ve ever taken a stroll down Boulevard de Grand Case at sunset, or maybe just after a lovely dinner at one of the many fine dining restaurants there, you understand the draw of Grand Case. It’s a magical, extraordinarily unique place that must been experienced to truly appreciate it.
Grand Case was hit hard by Irma and now, slowly but surely, restaurants along Boulevard de Grand Case are starting to re-open. Here are some posts about a few that have recently reopened, and one that is planning to open in January.
La Villa restaurant was the first of the fine dining restaurants along the Boulevard that re-opened. They were back in business on November 3, 2017.
Bistrot Caraibes, known for their huge lobsters and that wonderful lobster tank in front of the restaurant, just re-opened this past Monday, December 18, 2017.
Cafe Spiga is re-opening today for lunch and dinner. While not technically on the Boulevard, this wonderful french influenced Italian restaurant is located just before turning onto Boulevard de Grand Case.
And last but not least, Piazza Pascal recently sent out an update (full text below) stating that they will be re-opening in January. Here is the full text from that update along with a few photos.

My family and I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your thoughtful messages and generous contributions to our family’s page. Your support during this extremely difficult and emotional time has touched us deeply.
I would like to update everyone on what’s happening in St. Martin. Things are getting better and the rebuilding has started, but SLOWLY. Pascal and Lionel are working harder than ever as Piazza Pascal is helping the government feed the french military all day everyday. Lionel has purchased a shipping container and will soon be temporarily operating Le String bar from it until the government builds the new complex on Orient Bay Beach. Both restaurants will officially open to the public in January. Gisele’s apartments in Mount Vernon are still waiting to be repaired.
Gisele, Sev, Enzo and Ethan have been in Paris the last few months and Lionel will soon join them for Christmas and return to St. Martin in January. Donna has be in Dallas with her daughter Natalie and her family. She is soaking up as much precious time as possible with her new baby grandson. Pascal and their daughter, Ariane, will be coming to Dallas for Christmas and this will be the first Christmas in a long time all of them will be together. Donna and Pascal will return to St. Martin in January.
It has been a stressful and sad time for all of us but we are thankful we are all safe and happy to all be together. St. Martin has changed but we are determined to make it work and come back better than ever. We know your thoughts and prayers are with us and that gives us strength to continue. Thank you again for your support and we hope to see you all soon. Come see us and help keep St. Martin alive!
